You didn't land on this page by accident. Maybe you're a woman navigating life in a foreign country. Maybe you're dreaming of building an income online but don't know where to start. Maybe you're holding two worlds in your hands, the one you came from and the one you're building, and you just ,want someone who gets it.
That's exactly why this space exists.
My Story (The Real Version)
I'm Edith Otavero, an Urhobo woman from Delta State, Nigeria, now living in the heart of Barcelona, Spain.
My journey to this life didn't follow a straight line. It started in Cape Town, South Africa, where I met my now-husband, a Catalan man who was there on a business trip. What began as an unexpected connection grew into a love that crossed three countries and two continents.

We got married in Nigeria in December 2018, he came to do it the right way, the proper way, the way my people understand. After the wedding, I spent months processing my family visa from Nigeria while he returned to Barcelona and waited for me. That waiting period taught me patience I didn't know I had.
I arrived in Barcelona in September 2019, a new wife, in a new country, surrounded by a new language and a new culture. Catalan, Spanish, and somewhere in the middle, me.

I didn't sit still. I started working immediately, joining an e-commerce company as a marketer, learning the ropes of digital commerce, SEO, campaigns, and everything that comes with corporate life in Europe. I did that for five years. Five years of building someone else's brand while quietly wondering when I'd start building my own.

Then in October 2023, our son Jaume arrived, and everything shifted.
In January 2025, I made the decision that changed everything: I resigned. I stepped away from the corporate world to go all in on content creation, digital marketing, and building an online income that works for my life, not against it.

My mum, dad and siblings are still back home in Nigeria. Jaume switches between English with me, Catalan with his dad, and who knows what at school. Our home is a beautiful, loud, multicultural mix, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

What You'll Find on This Blog
This is not a generic lifestyle blog. This is a real, lived-in space where I write about:
Life as an African woman abroad — the culture clashes, the lonely days, the small victories, the joy of cooking egusi in a Barcelona kitchen and calling it home.

Building an online income from scratch — what actually works, what doesn't, and how I'm figuring it out in real time as a mum, a wife, and an immigrant.

Intercultural marriage and family life — loving someone from a completely different culture, raising a multilingual child, and finding your identity when you're standing between two worlds.

Soft living with purpose — because thriving is not just allowed, it's the goal.
